I'm a day late on my Halloween entry, but better late than never. And my pick is so good that you can watch it year round and still be creeped out. It's John Carpenter's Prince Of Darkness.
When a cylinder containing a mysterious green liquid is discovered in the basement of a church, a priest, Donald Pleasance, calls in a professor, Victor Wong, and his students to exam it. They discover that it is the embodiment of Satan. The liquid begins to escape the cylinder and possesses the students that come in contact with it. The church is also surrounded by a group of homeless people, led by Alice Cooper, who are under the devil's control.

This is one of the creepiest movies I have ever seen. It really gets under your skin, and for me, was a hard one to shake. I know that Carpenter is a horror master and he has a lot of classics in his cannon, but I think this one is just as good, if not better than Halloween or The Thing. Carpenter is one of my favorite filmmakers, and this is easily in my top five of his.
If you want an evening of being genuinely creeped out, you should check it out. It's available on blu ray and dvd.
