Sometimes trash is just that, trash. And it doesn't get trashier than 1983's A Night In Heaven.

Leslie Ann Warren stars as Faye, a college speech professor who's become bored with her marriage to an out of work rocket scientist, you read that right, named Whitney, Robert Logan. Faye's sister Patsy, Deborah Rush, takes her out for a night on the town and the two go to a male strip club. The main attraction is Ricky The Rocket, Christopher Atkins, who also happens to be one of Faye's troublemaking students. Ricky notices her and gives her extra special attention when he dances.

Once she see's him dance, Faye is attracted to Ricky. He picks up on this and hopes that he can use it to boost his grade. The two start an affair, but when Whitney finds out, he goes to desperate measures to put an end to it.

This a very Harlequin style, trashy romance. I find it hard to believe that talents like Warren and Logan would want to appear in this garbage. Even harder to believe is that it was directed by John G. Avildsen, the same man who helmed Joe, Rocky, The Karate Kid, and Neighbors.

This isn't even enjoyable at a campy level. Avoid it. Luckily it's out of print on dvd.
