In yesterday's post, I wrote about the Crown International release Tomboy and how it's girl power message kind of gets lost amidst the t&a. In 1986, the studio came closer to hitting that mark with the release of My Chauffeur.
Valley Girl's Deborah Foreman stars as Casey Meadows, a spunky young woman who gets the chance to be a driver for the Brentwood Limousine Service. Brentwood has had a long standing tradition of only hiring male drivers. The staff wants to keep this tradition, so her boss, Howard Hesseman, sends her out on the worst assignments. Her perkiness and goodwill wins over the clients and soon enough her coworkers. But she has her work cut out for her when she is assigned to Battle Witherspoon, Sam J. Jones. A bitter executive nursing a broken heart.

Of course with this being a Crown International Picture, there is some nudity. But unlike their other films, it doesn't come off as gratuitous. Foreman gives a charming and spunky performance and is aided by a pretty impressive supporting cast that also includes E.G. Marshall, Penn and Teller.

This is a sweet and fun little picture.
It's available on dvd.
