I'm a huge Brian DePalma fan, but somehow I missed his 1978 film The Fury. I finally caught up with this one yesterday and here's my thoughts.
Kirk Douglas stars as Peter Sandza, a former CIA agent whose trying to track down his telekenitic son Robin, Andrew Stevens. Robin has been kidnapped by a secret organization within the CIA that wants to use his powers as a weapon. With the help of his girlfriend Hester, Carrie Snodgress, Peter find's a teenage girl named Gillian, Amy Irving, with similar powers as his son and hopes that she will be able to help him find Robin.

I have to say that this isn't one of my favorite DePalma films. That being said, it's not a horrible film, but DePalma covered similar ground, and with better effect, two years earlier with Carrie. He even tried to get Sissy Spacek back in the Irving role. When she turned it down, he nabbed her Carrie costar.
The cast, with the exception of Stevens, comes off pretty good. Stevens is a bit too bratty in his role. John Cassavetes is really good as the heavy. He can display trusting and menace at the same time with ease. Douglas is reliable as always.

It probably didn't help that I recently rewatched Firestarter, that has a similar story but is more entertaining. All in all, not a horrible picture. Just not one of DePalma's best.
It's available on dvd and is streaming on Netflix.
