Since I'm looking back at the career of Anton Yelchin, who passed away yesterday, I thought I would post about one of his more recent performances that didn't get a lot of attention, 2014's Burying the Ex.
Max, Yelchin, is stuck in a horrible relationship with the overbearing Evelyn, Ashley Greene. When he finally gets up the courage to break up with her, she dies in a freak accident. Soon after, Max finds his perfect match in Olivia, Alexanda Daddario, but the love that Evelyn has for Max hasn't died and she returns from the grave to prove it.

Burying The Ex suffers from being released around the same time as the similar Life After Beth. That being said, I actually enjoyed this film more. It was directed by the legendary Joe Dante, and even though it's not up there with his best work, it's still enjoyable. The thing that makes it really fun is Yelchin's likable performance as the harrid Max. It's hard not to root for him.

Burying The Ex is a fun, little zombie comedy.
It's available on dvvd and blu ray and is streaming on Netflix.
