The Last Party

With the Democratic National Convention taking place this week, I thought it would be a perfect time to look back at a terrific documentary that took place behind the scenes of the 1992 conventions, 1993's The Last Party.

Robert Downey, Jr. is your host, as well as co writer, through the election scene of the Rock The Vote era. Downey interviews most of the heavy hitters, both from the political arena and entertainment. Downey seems to be having a blast as a sort of class clown with the proceedings, and he's a fun guide.

This is a fun and informative look back at a bygone election year that seemed pretty crazy at the time, but nothing in comparison as to what is happening today.

Unfortunately, it's not available on dvd or blu ray.
