Between Death Wish 2 and 3, Charles Bronson decided to take his tough guy persona into the horror genre with 1983's 10 To Midnight.

Bronson plays a tough, no nonsense police detective who's assigned a new, wet behind the ears partner, Andrew Stevens. The two are tracking down a Jack The Ripper style serial killer, Gene Davis. Stevens by the book methods clash with Bronson's shoot first, ask questions later approach. But the two must work together when the killer sets his sights on Bronson's daughter, Lisa Eilbacher, to be his next victim.

Bronson might not be the best actor, but I have to admit that I think he is entertaining. And 10 To Midnight is my favorite film of his. His tough, old guy presence adds a lot to the proceedings. And his banter with both Stevens and Eilbacher is very believable. Davis gives a very creepy performance as well.

Bronson reteamed with his St. Ives and The White Buffalo director J. Lee Thompson. Having helmed the original Cape Fear made Thompson already a master at this kind of picture.

This is a very entertaining thriller and Bronson at the top of his game.

It's available on dvd and blu ray.
