I'm a big fan of the late Peter Falk's work. Not only was he a gifted dramatic actor, but he had comedy chops as well. I actually prefer his funnier side, which is on full display in today's pick, 1990's Tune In Tomorrow...

It's the 1950's, and Falk plays Pedro Carmichael, a much sought after soap opera writer for radio serials. He has just taken a job at a New Orleans based radio station and finds that a young coworker's, Keanu Reeves, love life makes perfect fodder for his scripts. The young man has become enamored with his aunt by marriage, Barbara Hershey, so Pedro helps fan those flames, as well as throw some obstacles in the way, so he can use it for his soap.

Falk, who dons many disguises, is in top form here. He is a real hoot. Hershey, who's always terrific, and Reeves are great as well. The film boasts some nice cameos as well.
This movie has been pretty much forgotten over the years, which is a shame. It's a hysterical and sweet flick and a terrific showcase for the legendary Falk.

It's available on dvd.
