Late Night Double Feature: Babes In Space!

Tonight's double bill has two elements I love, sci fi and hot ladies.

Barbarella (1968) has Jane Fonda, in one of her first starring roles, in the title role. She's sent into space to stop the evil Durand Durand, Milo O'Shea, from destroying Earth with a death ray. Her journey turns into a sexy adventure.

Directed by Fonda's then husband Roger Vadim with a screenplay by the great scribe Terry Southern, Fonda is game in a fun performance.

Barbarella is a silly, sci fi romp that is deserving of it's cult status.

Galaxina (1980) features the late Playboy Playmate Dorothy Stratten in the title role as an android who is aiding a space crew on a mission to retrieve a stolen space gem that holds many powers. The crew finds themselves getting into one wild adventure after another.

This movie is sillier than Barbarella and is more of a space spoof. The movie is incredibly silly and has a lot of laughs. Sadly, at the time of its release, the murder of Stratten cast a shadow over the film.
